 Meeting a Need

Covenant Church Educational Ministry offers FREE classes to the community. We believe there is a need in Northwest Arkansas for quality teaching from a Biblical perspective, especially in secondary mathematics and science. Classes are open to all ages. We welcome students from public & private schools, as well as homeschoolers, college students, adults, retirees, etc. Participants need not be members or attendees of Covenant Church.

Schedule of Classes-Fall 2011

--Pre-Algebra: MTTF 7:30-9am   Pre-Algebra is appropriate for any person who has memorized the multiplication tables and is proficient in long division.

--Algebra: MF 9-11:30am  Our Algebra class covers common topics from both Algebra I and Algebra II.

--Higher Math:  TT 9-11:30am  This class is appropriate for students of Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus.

--Biology: MTTF 11:30am-12:30pm  Biology is taught from a "Special Creation" perspective. It is not recommended for elementary-age students.

Short Courses

From time to time, Covenant offers "short courses" in a variety of subjects. These are intended to be entertaining as well as educational, and are suitable for a wide range of ages. They do not have exams, and are less than a month in duration. Call or email for upcoming classes or to request a specific subject.

Tutoring

Currently, we offer an open drop-in Tutoring Hour from 4:30-5:30pm each Wednesday. Help on any subject is available. If a student is able to call ahead, we will try to have a "specialist" in that area available. In certain cases, tutoring at other times may be available by appointment.

Instructors

The primary instructor for most classes is Pete Golden. Pete has over a decade of teaching experience in public, private, and homeschool settings. He is assisted by volunteers from the membership of Covenant Church, many of whom have considerable experience and expertise in various fields.
